The last TBC happenings for 2009

Hi, this is the last TBC Happenings for 2009.

This is to remind you that the Christmas Eve Service starts at 7 p.m. It will be a wonderful family event and a great time to focus on the reason for our celebration.

We are still keen to get more flyers out to advertise the Christmas Eve Service, so if you wish to deliver some of these, there are some sitting at reception with a list of streets already delivered to.  The church office will be open until about 4 on Wednesday.

Have a wonderful Christmas with family and friends.  Take opportunity to reflect on, and be thankful for, all of God's blessings to us as a church and individually this year.  Enjoy Christmas.

This Sunday is our last service for the year

Hi there, This Sunday is our last service for the year.  Jonathan will be speaking.

• Soulkids PRESCHOOL – Staff Room (Christmas Party)
• Soulkids CRECHE – Room 10 (down the hall … follow the signs) 
• Please note that the rooms being used have changed due to the school starting some renovations.

What’s Coming Up:

• Christmas Eve Service at the school 7 p.m. start.  The service that is planned will be awesome.  Come along and enjoy a great family event.

• Christmas Flyers – There are bundles of 30 available either at reception at the church or at the server this Sunday for you to deliver around your area.  Please check the sheet to see if your street has already been delivered to.  

• The new-look TBC website is now live!   Brook Warner has been hard at work behind the scenes this year making this happen.  We would really love for you to check it out sometime.  Click here to go there now. We want the website to be a great place for communicating what is happening in the life of TBC, so any feedback you have would be awesome.

Can you help

Hi again, 

Jess Angove has made contact with a young woman who has a 2 year old boy and is about to give birth to twin girls. This young woman has very little and was blown away by a few things that Jess has passed on to her. We are hopeful that as a Church we could get a few more things together to help support her at this time and maybe even whip up a few meals to put in her freezer.

She is in need of clothes (both for her son and the twin girls) and pretty much any other baby things that are spare eg carseats, cots, etc. If anyone has good quality used goods that they would be willing to pass on to this young woman could they please contact Jess Angove (ph 827 0450) so she can coordinate the delivery.

Flyers for Christmas Eve Service

Christmas Eve

Hi, would you have some spare time as a family, couple or individuals to deliver abundle or two of flyers for the CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE?    We have bundles of about 30 sitting at reception plus a sheet of paper for you to fill in of where you will be delivering the flyers.

If you can help in any way, that would be awesome.  Just drop into the church at 32 Kaurilands Road, between 9 and 4, and pick up some bundles.

Hi there, want to know what's coming up this week?

This Sunday is our celebration Sunday and Farewell to Grahame.

A request:

This is very short notice, but we are wondering if there is a family in the church who would like to decorate a Christmas tree for this Sunday.  We can supply fairy lights and some decorations. It would be great if this was a real tree, but if anyone has a tree that they are not using, that would be awesome.   It would need to be done tomorrow or early Sunday morning. If anyone is able to do this, please contact Michelle Warner at 021 372327  

What’s Coming Up:

Walk Across the Courtyard Free Lunch – This Sunday – Lunch in the staffroom straight after the service.  A great place to connect with people.

Hi, this is just to remind you of the Prayer Day tomorrow at the church, 32 Kaurilands Road.
You can come any time from 10 - 4, or from 7 - 9.  There will be a corporate prayer time at 7:45.

There are prayer stations set up around the auditorium with particular ways for you to express your prayers and thoughts.

An update from the team in Argentina

Good morning TBC
It's crazy to think the team has been away only 9 days. Each day has felt like 2 or even 3 rolled into 1. In 1 day we went to prison (very high security, but awesome opportunity), went on live tv, met the mayor, had a press conference, played two games (girls game and guys game) and had a meal. We woke up at 5 and went to bed at 1.30. Not every day is like this, but the ministry opportunities have been exceptional.
We have played a few games and had opportunities to preach the gospel at every on.
A girl was crying after a gospel message I preached at one of the games. I was told after that a certain part of the message had related to events in her own life. She wanted to give all to God.
There is so much I want to share. This team has become very close to me. They are young people growing as the see God's hand working live. They also make me feel very young at times, though I still win the play fights.
Please continue to pray for the players. Some struggle to have the courage to share, a bit overawed. Having said that they mix very well and are treated with the regard of a professional football team here.
Paige is playing with a broken toe, Megan, a sore knee, Anthony and Paige with blocked sinus' and me with a 46 year old body. That apart health and fitness is excellent.
As you hear this we are ready to go to Chile.
I will try to put the story about Argentina on the website as soon as.

This Sunday is Vision Sunday.  As part of the service, the Crossing Team will be presenting to the church where the Project is at and where it is going.  

Also this Sunday is our Annual Special end of year Offering.

We will be seeking to give extra this Sunday to help us meet all our financial commitments for 2009 plus attend to some unbudgeted repairs and maintenance to our church building at 32 Kaurilands Road.  Please be praying that we will reach our goal of $17,500.  Thank you to all who sacrifice so faithfully for the life and ministry of TBC.

Wanted: Executive Pastor - Titirangi Baptist Church

Titirangi Baptist is a growing, multigenerational, evangelical church based in West Auckland and is currently seeking an Executive Pastor to join our team.

The Executive Pastor would be responsible for the leadership of the full Pastoral Team, empowering them to fully perform in their various areas of ministry.  As well as this you will have a passion for bringing people together to worship God, and will be highly involved in developing the Sunday morning worship service.

TBC Happenings October 8th 2009

Hi there, want to know what's coming up this week? This Sunday Jonathan is back in the pulpit preaching. W.A.T.C.H – Walk Across the Courtyard Hospitality – is on this Sunday in the staffroom immediately after the service.  If you have been coming for a year or less, the Newcomers team would love to see you. ·         LIGHT PARTY October 31st 4 p.m. Sign Up Sheets will be on the tables in the foyer please put your name down or sign up as a home group. ·         SELF Denial – If you missed putting this offering in last week, you can do so this Sunday.  Please mark the envelope CLEARLY that it is for SELF DENIAL and put it in the offering bag.  If you wish to have this recorded against your giving number/name please include this also.  Events that are coming up: ·         ALPHA Course - Starts October 13th.  Contact Mark or Tor Dickson for more information. ·         Operation Christmas Child – is happening again this year.  The youth group will be putting boxes together on Saturday October 17th.  Please bring items suitable for these on Sunday and give them to Michael Matthews ·         LIGHT PARTY OFFERING – On October 18th, there will be an offering for the Light Party.   This will enable us to help fund this amazing community event in conjunction with Glen Eden Baptist.   The Key Family would like to thank everyone that has given so generously to them for the needs in Samoa. We were able to purchase a tent, large gazebo and chainsaw. Robert and Theresa also had their airfares covered and Robert’s work gifted them a new generator. We have had donations of bedding, tents, clothes, crockery and many other things. Thanks to a few different circumstances that have come together, we haven’t had to pay anything in freight. This is truly unbelievable!
